ABOUT

I'm originally from Scotland, and I am a self-taught guitarist. I started playing guitar aged of 19, while I was studying Mathematics and Computer Science at Glasgow University. The more I played, the better I got, and it became an obsession that resulted in a career as a musician.

To complete my musical journey, I studied my Associate and Licentiate diplomas with the London College Of Music, then went to Alicante, in Spain to study with the world's best acoustic guitar teacher, José Tomás.

 

Australia has been my home for the last twenty years. I love the Australian ethos, and the lifestyle afforded here.  

 

I haves performed throughout the UK and Europe, and in  Australia, I recorded a soundtrack for a documentary on SBS and I have performed a number of times live on ABC radio.

 

I perform recitals and concerts, but I also enjoy playing for corporate events, art galleries, and weddings. Playing these venues gives me immense satisfaction, as I get to see how happy people are with the performance I provide. Having a vast repertoire from which I can draw, spanning Classical, Spanish, Brazilian choro, samba, Bossa, South American, Jazz, Blues, and Ragtime genres, I can set a suitable mood and energy for an event.

 

I am happy to take requests for any performance, and I often consult with a client, giving suggestions of the kinds of music they might like me to play.

 

Whether you like classical, Latin American, or even pop music, I can cater to any taste. At corporate functions, dinners, and weddings, the ambiance is important, and I can provide an important, yet unobtrusive addition to your event.

 

My greatest influences are guitarists David Russell, Simon Dinnigan, Eduardo Fernández, Julian Bream, Baden Powell de Aquino, Vladimír Mikulka, John Williams, to name a few.
