I teach students how to play guitar. Lessons are tailored for each student’s needs, whether they are a beginner or advanced student. Students that are beginners will learn the basics of guitar. I teach students step by step how to tune their instrument, how to hold their instrument, how to read standard music notation, and music theory. I teach the correct technique, and can prepare students to sit Australian Music Examinations Board from Grade 1 to Associate or Licentiate level, or HSC practical examination preparation.

Students will learn fingerstyle, classical, ragtime, blues, jazz, or rock and pop guitar.

The Creative Kids Voucher will enable the students to receive three half hour lessons either in person at my studio in Gosford, NSW, or by Zoom.

All teaching materials are supplied by PDF or in paper form.

Each lesson is didactic, and each successive lesson builds upon previous principles learned.

Lesson One will be how to tune the guitar, how to hold the guitar, and the basics of reading music using simple melodies, introducing time signatures, key signatures, and scales.

Lesson Two  continues with more elaborate melodies and rhythms, teaching the student how to be more efficient when playing, what the symbols mean in the sheet music, and how harmony works.

Lesson Three will introduce using the student’s right hand thumb playing bass notes to accompany the melodies learned, and what can be achieved harmonically when utilizing all six strings of the guitar.
